Who
we are
The Banzeta line
of gundogs has been established and recognised
for over 35 years. They are bred for a number
of different qualities, the main ones being,
soundness, consistency in appearance (This
tends to be heavily marked with colour and
usually a solid, square head), Easy natured
but extremely hard going in thick cover.
They are bred for the shooting man, meaning
they are not too hot to handle but have
all the power in the right areas.
Our spaniels are bred
to be robust, hard working, eager to please
and good looking and our Labradors are
bred with the ability to endure shooting
under all situations, be it 1 bird in
a day or 1000 in a day, they have got
the brains to cope.
We are always scouting
the country for the finest working dogs
and we have repeatedly stayed away from
some of the more fashionable stud dogs
in order to keep our line consistent.
You will find a Banzetas dog's pedigree
to contain lines to the most prolific
and consistent working dogs in the country
and not the fashionable dogs, that have
yet to prove anything.
Our Breeding
We have stayed loyal
to the old style dog rather than the modern,
small, white flashy dogs, as we believe
a spaniel should be capable of completing
a full days work 7 days a week, rather
than 25 minutes a couple of times a month.
We place great emphasis on our dogs first
and foremost being shooting dogs but still
having the ability to compete and win
at field trials.
Our Methods
We train dogs in such
a way that the dog does not realise that
he is being trained. By allowing the dogs
natural ability to develop and working
alongside the dog, most dogs complete
their training without the need for heavy
discipline or the need for continual correction.
We usual start with a Springer at about
seven months, Labradors at eight months
and Cockers at nine months. We strongly
believe in not over training young dogs
as this leads to many problems in later
life. Dog training needs to be tailored
to suit the dog and not the trainer so
we have two full time resident trainers
with experience in every aspect of dog
training and over 40 years of experience
between them.
Our establishment
We are situated 5 minutes
from junction 28 of the M1 motorway in
the hear of the Derbyshire countryside.
Our kennels are all modern galvanised
sectional units built on the premise by
our own company Kentek. We have the capacity
to home 5 dogs for training, this is the
maximum we have at any one time as we
strongly believe that each dog needs to
have a course of dedicated training rather
than compete with many other dogs for
the odd five minutes in a day. If we have
a dog in for training we Guarantee it
will leave the kennels fully compatible
with the owners requirements.
Our training facilities
are unmatched anywhere in the United Kingdom.
They include a massive rabbit pen that
is always plentifully stocked, and with
all the different types of cover needed
to train your dog such as canary grass,
brambles, thistles and hilly banks as
well as a pond and many jumps. Other facilities
we have our woodland terrain, 5 large
lakes and access to hundreds of acres
of rabbit shooting and game shooting around
England and Scotland.
We have a large, fully
central heated indoor kennel unit, that
is home to our own dogs and we have a
custom built unit with inside and outside
access for our clients dogs.
