Refunds and transfers
Cancel on or before Saturday 21 November 2026 for a full refund. After that date, refunds are not available for competitor cancellations.
You can transfer your place to another eligible shooter at any time. Please contact TAC12 to arrange the change.
If TAC12 cancels the event, all competitors will receive a full refund. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
New to matches? FAQ
I've never shot a match before. Can I still enter?
Absolutely! Beginners are welcome. Everyone shoots the same eight stages, and we'll explain the safety rules at the main briefing and talk you through each stage before you shoot.
Can juniors take part?
Yes. Juniors aged 14 to 17 are welcome. A parent or guardian aged 21 or over must stay with them throughout the event and cannot compete while supervising.
Juniors will complete a rifle handling check at sign in, and their parent or guardian must provide their ammunition.
When and where is it?
Saturday 5 December 2026 at Woodend Farm Complex, Chesterfield Road, Huthwaite, NG17 2QJ.
Sign in at HQ from 8:00, with the safety briefing at 8:45 and first shots at 9:00. Lunch is planned around 12:00, prize giving at 15:00 and finish by 16:00. Timings may change on the day.
If you're running late, please contact us before the safety briefing.
How much is it?
£20 per competitor. One ticket admits one competitor. Booking online secures your place. If spaces remain on the day, entry is £20 cash only.
What rifle do I need?
A magazine fed PCP air rifle below 12 ft/lbs only. Single shot loading trays and single shot only rifles aren't allowed. Pellets or slugs are both fine, and we'd advise magazines that hold 10 or more rounds.
Will my rifle be checked?
Yes. Every rifle will be chronographed with the ammunition you'll be using.
If your rifle fails, you can make one adjustment and have one retest with permission from an RO. A rifle that still fails cannot be used in the competition.
What about air, and can I borrow kit?
Air refills are available on site. Limited loan kit is available by prior arrangement, so get in touch before the day.
What about food and drink?
Lunch is planned for around midday. Please bring your own food. Water is free for shooters, and hot and soft drinks will be available to buy.
What if the weather's bad?
Both ranges are under cover, so normal December rain, cold or light snow won't stop the match. We'll only cancel if the conditions make shooting unsafe.
Will there be prizes?
Yes! Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall, plus a trophy and prize for the top junior. The Countryman of Derby are also kindly donating 2 x £25 vouchers as prizes. Any additional prizes will be announced once confirmed.
Airgun Assault: The Ultimate Airgun Experience
“whens the next one?”
With the last Airgun Assault being a great success, we were almost instantly being asked “whens the next one?”. Well, on 21.10.23 & 22.10.23 we’ll be hosting the second iteration of Airgun Assault: The Ultimate Airgun Experience. We had a lot of people miss out on the last event so we’ve decided to put on a (almost) complete duplicate. The courses will be slightly different but the disciplines will be staying the same.
Over two days we’ll be hosting 3 disciplines, 4 categories and 40+ shots. There will be raffles, stalls, catering and of course free parking and toilets.
Nobody is allowed to shoot both days as it will give an unfair advantage and pistols are not allowed

Woodend Field Target

WFT (Woodend Field Target) will be very similar to HFT but with our own rules. We have a diverse range of customers and for some, it’s not getting down on the floor that’s the problem; it’s getting back up! Because of this, we are allowing ANY SHOOTING STANCE on all shots (shooting sticks are allowed). Another rule we are changing is for the adjustment of scopes after your first shot. When hunting, you don’t have to stick to the one magnification or parallax so why should you during a competition? We will be allowing the ADJUSTMENT OF SCOPES after your first shot, allowing you to judge distance via parallax (as all targets will be unmarked).
Long Range Benchrest
- 5 shots at 3 distances
- 65 - 95 yards
- Splatterburst silhouette targets
- spotting marshal
LRB (Long Range Benchrest) will be 3 shots at 5 distances (15 shots in total) from 60 - 95 yards. Using 12x18” Splatterburst Silhouette Targets (scoring 0 - 10 points), every shooter will get fresh targets. A marshal will be present with a spotting scope to confirm scores.
Freestanding Tactical
- up to 20 shots
- 10 - 35 yards
- 15 minute course
- uneven terrain
Freestanding Tactical will consist of up to 20 shots on uneven terrain (suitable footwear advised) Bell targets will be used scoring 10, 5 or 0 points. The course will be completed in 15 minutes; going around in 2’s, scoring each others scorecards.
ALL RULES WILL BE FULLY CONFIRMED ON THE DAY

Our last airgun competition must have been back in 2017, it’s been a long time coming but here it is! We’ve teamed up with Vector Air to bring you an exciting competition on the second weekend in May 2023. Over two days we’ll be hosting 3 disciplines, 4 categories and 40+ shots. There will be parking, toilets, catering and maybe a few stores to spend some pennies.

We will be hosting the EFAA 3D Championships on the 8th October - 9th October. All our Target Sports Ranges and our Fishery will be closed for the entire weekend. Our Kennels & Cattery will remain open as normal.
Woodend Happy Cafe will be open throughout the weekend, selling a wide selection of Food & Drinks (hot & cold).
KATTA National Championships
We will be hosting the KATTA National Championships on the 9th July - 10th July. Our Members Only Range will be closed for the entire weekend. Our Fishery and our Kennels & Cattery will remain open as normal.
Woodend Happy Cafe will be open throughout the weekend, selling a wide selection of Food & Drinks (hot & cold). Camping is available (please contact John Taylor or a member of staff at Woodend for ore information).
EFAA Bowhunter Championships
We will be hosting the EFAA Bowhunter Championships on the 11th June - 12th June. All our Target Sports Ranges and our Fishery will be closed for the entire weekend. Our Kennels & Cattery will remain open as normal.
